This annual report examines the progress made by the activities under the Foundational Learning Compact (FLC) Multi-Donor Umbrella Trust Fund from October 2023 to September 2024.

This report summarized the findings from the implementation of the GEPD in Edo State, Nigeria. The GEPD is a tool designed to measure the drivers of learning outcomes in basic education globally. By spotlighting where educational systems are deficient in providing quality education for all children, the GEPD identifies critical gaps between current practices and evidence-based strategies that effectively promote learning for all. It assists governments in setting priorities and tracking progress as they strive to close these gaps.

Using unique nationally representative school and system survey data from 13 education systems in low and middle-income countries collected through the World Bank¡¯s Global Education Policy Dashboard (GEPD), we examine how the pedagogical practices, including practices to foster student engagement and subject content knowledge of primary-school teachers, correlate with their students¡¯ learning outcomes.

Despite rising global interest in inclusive education, more children with disabilities are being left out. Learn how the FLC and the Scottish Government are addressing this through the Inclusive Education Policy Academy (IEPA), a new World Bank program focused on disability inclusion in education.
