In today¡¯s digital economy, governments are increasingly leveraging technology to deliver services with speed, in a sustainable manner and at population scale. Today, over a quarter of adults receive payments from the government. When government-to-person (G2P) payments are digitized, it also offers the opportunity to advance financial inclusion, advance women¡¯s economic empowerment, and promote the development of the digital ecosystem.

The World Bank¡¯s G2Px initiative seeks to strengthen the government-to-person (G2P) payments landscape by bringing together global knowledge and expertise across sectors on the core elements of a modern G2P architecture, that increasingly leverage core digital public infrastructure capabilities.

Through this initiative, the World Bank hopes to build a global movement that ensures that all G2P programs prioritize broader inclusion and empowerment outcomes through a focus on thoughtful and responsible digitization.
